Synopsis

A woman in her forties struggles with keeping up appearances in a highly driven corporate office. When she develops a friendship with a cockroach she meets in the office toilet, it becomes both her saving grace and cause for angst.

About the Director

Maysaa Almumin is currently living and working as an Assistant Professor in design in Qatar. She grew up in London where she was trained and practiced in architecture after which she moved to Kuwait and then Qatar where she started, acting and scriptwriting since 2011. She has had acting training with Scandar Copti and Daniel Suissa and has been involved in film projects in Kuwait, Italy, Egypt and Qatar. Maysaa wrote, directed and performed in short film based art work ‘Rites of Passage’ and ‘Calling of the Congress’ as explorations of the role and character of design/set/ objects within narrative film, which were exhibited at the Voice of Feminism exhibition in October of 2018. Maysaa is currently in post-production on her AFAC and DFI granted short film due for completion in early 2020.
