FIFA 20

The latest and greatest edition of the ever-popular EA football video game franchise is coming to Geekdom. FIFA 20 features super realistic player motion tracking, updated team tactics and totally immersive stadium atmospheres.

Are you our Player of the Year? Dust off your boots and pull on that captain’s armband because it’s time to leave it all on the pitch at this year’s winner-takes-all FIFA 20 Tournament. This tournament is organized by the Youth Hobby Center.

General Rules:

• The tournaments are in Double Elimination format. I. E. Losing 1 set in the tournament will still allow participants one more chance in the Losers Bracket.
• All participants must bring their own controllers / USB Cables. All players using wireless controllers are required to un-sync their controllers from the PS4 they played on upon completion of every set. Failure to do so may subject the player to disqualification at the discretion of Tournament Organizers. Controllers must not have any performance enhancing modifications of any kind, including but not limited to turbo settings, and macros.
• Tournament Organizers have the right to revoke or revise the event rules at any point during the event as they may see fit to ensure a fair and just experience as deemed necessary.

FIFA Tournament Rules:
• The tournament is for FIFA 2020 on PlayStation 4 with the recent updates of the game.
• All registered players will be notified after the draw of their groups. Each player is allowed to choose any team (Clubs or National) throughout the tournament.
• The half-length is 5 minutes.
• Speed: Fast (unless both players agreed on a change).
• Camera: Tele broadcast (unless both players agreed on a change).
• Level: Legendary.
• Weather: Clear – Night.
• Stadium: has to be Neutral (Unless both players agreed on a change).
• Defense: Tactical Defending.
• Players may change the formation and tactics of their teams and will be allowed time to do so before each match.
• Players are not allowed to pause the game during the match unless except in cases of a foul, throw-in, corner kick or goal kick.

Overwatch

Overwatch is a game played in teams of six, with players selecting from a roster of 30 characters, known as heroes, each with a unique style of play. Teams work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time.

General Rules:

• All participants are allowed to bring their own equipment like headphone, keyboard, mouse and controller.
• Tournament Organizers have the right to revoke or revise the event rules at any point during the event as they may see fit to ensure a fair and just experience as deemed necessary.

Overwatch Rules:
• Game version: PC.
• The tournaments are in Single Elimination format.
• Each team can have from six to nine members (6 – 9).
• Each player can only have one battle tag and it cannot be changed in the middle of the tournament.
• Game Settings: Competitive play rules (locked characters in the competitive play mode will not be included in the tournament).
• Players are not allowed to change their roles in the middle of the match, roles can only be changed after each map is completely finished (attack and defense).
• All the qualifying rounds are best of 5 (First to 3).
• Control, hybrid, assault, payload, control for tiebreaker.
• Loser chooses the map without changing the map mode.
• The organizers can change the rules anytime if needed.
• You can bring your own mouse, keyboard or headphones if you want.
• Controller can be used (controllers are not going to be provided by us).
• If the match had technical issues in the first minute and a half from the match then the match will be reset (without changing the map) otherwise paused and un-paused.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting game featuring Nintendo’s ‘all-stars’ as playable characters. The gameplay is a dramatic departure from other fighting games, such as Street Fighter. Instead of winning by depleting an opponent’s life bar, players seek to knock opposing characters off a stage to win.

Mario vs Pikachu?!? Take control of your favorite Nintendo character and prepare to do battle in our Geekdom Super Smash Bros Tournament organized by Super Smash Bros. Qatar. You better have good balance though, one slip and it could be curtains.

All sets are best of 3 except: Winners Semifinals, Winners Finals, Losers Quarters, Losers, Semifinals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals which will be played as a best of 5.

Set Procedure:
Players select their characters:
• Either player may elect to do Double Blind Character.

Selection:
• Rock-paper-scissors is played to determine who strikes stages first.
• Winner of Rock-Paper-Scissors bans 1 stage and loser bans 2, winner picks the first stage from the starting stages list and then the players play the first match of the set.
• Winning player of the preceding match bans 2 stages with the addition to counter pick stages.
• The losing player states his chosen stage.
• The winning player may choose to switch characters.
• The losing player may choose to switch characters.
• Next match in the set is played.

Steps 4 through 8 are repeated until the set is complete.

The latest 2D fighting game from Bandai Namco based on the ever popular and loved Dragon Ball animation series. Praised by fans of fighting games and anime alike, this game has taken the world by storm and is making its debut at Geekdom 2019, organized by Qatar FGC.

Competitors will prepare teams of 3 powerful and familiar characters from the series and partake in epic fights to decide the Dragon Ball Fighterz champion of Geekdom 2019 in a double elimination format tournament full of excitement. Join our tournament here to find out.

• Players may mutually agree who sits on the left and right side, corresponding to Player 1 and Player 2 respectively, at the start of the Match. Players are committed to this selection for the entirety of the Match. If Players cannot agree to a Side Selection, they will play a Best-of-One Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who picks their side first. The winner selects a side first.

• Training Stage, Skies of Honor, Flamenco Tavern, and Kanzuki Beach stage are not tournament legal.
• Players may mutually agree who sits on the left and right side, corresponding to Player 1 and Player 2 respectively, at the start of the Match. Players are committed to this selection for the entirety of the Match. • Grand Finals, Winners Finals and Losers Finals will be on 3/5 games format (Best of 5).
• Winners of any match are not allowed to change their characters before the following match in a set. Losers of a match are allowed to change characters in the match following their loss.
• Stage selection will always be set to random. The loser of any match has the choice to return to the stage select screen for another stage to be randomly selected, or to replay the following match on the same stage.
• Players may mutually agree who sits on the left and right side, corresponding to Player 1 and Player 2 respectively, at the start of the Match. Players are committed to this selection for the entirety of the Match. If Players cannot agree to a Side Selection, they will play a Best-of-One Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who picks their side first. The winner selects a side first.
• There will be no customizing colors, names or items at any time before or during a tournament match. Any player that does so will be given a loss.
